Bending Basics, May 2015 “How an air bend turns sharp”
May’s Bending Basics column: “How an air bend turns sharp” from The Fabricator magazine is now available for reading at theFabricator.com.
I’ve often been questioned: “Why does the bend turn sharp at 63% of the material thickness” This column answers that question. A concept that can cause bad engineering due to incorrect bend deductions and from the technician’s perspective a sharp bend can be a real forming nightmare! Making bend angles unstable.
This again is a bending concept that everyone must know how to deal with if you want to make good parts the first time. Linked through the Media tab on the menu bar.
