There’s a new post to theArtofPressBrake’s Forum page about K-factors where their listed and do they mean.
In my response to the question I describe K-factors are no more than a multiplier used to locate the neutral axis within a given bend. While most systems and designers opt for 0.446 as the average multiplier value. The graph below provides the K-factor specific to a method and material type.
Caution the K-factor and Bend Deductions BD) are not the same things. Though Bend Deductions (BD) and specifically Bend Allowance (BA) are calculated using the K-factor.
