Bending Basics – A grand unifying theory pt 3

A grand unifying theory of bending on a press brake pt 2, from the November issue of the Fabricator magazine continues to bring together in Bending Basics – A grand unifying theory pt 3, all of the information that has been discussed over the last few months. How radius, bend allowances and bend deductions all fit together.

This particular installment looks into successful “Radius” bending. An inside radius where the radius itself exceed the material thickness by 125% or more. Multi-breakage and why the radius gets smaller as the complementary bend angle exceeds 90-degrees. And how that applies to proper bend deduction calculations.
